Car Parking
Use the car park permit available within the apartment.
It is recommended that you use the car park located 150 metres down Lake Road on the right (LA22 0DB, towards Windermere, immediately after the shop ‘Adventure Peaks’). This is free, provided the parking permit is prominently displayed.
This permit may be used in other council operated car parks in Ambleside and the surrounding area including the King Street, Low Fold, Rydal Road car parks.
The parking permit must be returned at the end of your stay (unfortunately a new annual permit has to be purchased if this one is lost, current price £787.70).
If you need to park an additional car at Lake Road car park you can 'Pay by Phone' using location code 9908. There is a significantly discounted 'all day early bird tariff' available if you buy a 'Pay & Display' ticket between 8.00pm and 9.00am (price from 1st April 2026 £1.40 for the day).
It is possible to street park at multiple places throughout Ambleside, including on Lake Road in front of Studio House, for 1 hour using a parking disc. These discs can be obtained from most Ambleside shops and are free of charge.
